In the heart of South America lies the Amazon rainforest. It is the world's largest tropical forest with the largest rivers and the richest ecological system of the earth. The Pampas tour is the most common tour here, You’re guaranteed to see lots of animals; Capybaras, pink dolphins, caimans and a variety of birds and monkeys.
Description
DAY 1:
We leave Rurrenabaque at 9 a.m. by jeep and head towards the town of Santa Rosa. From here we will go by motorized canoe to the base camp. We have lunch before going by boat down the river to look for caimans, capybaras and a variety of different native birds. We return to camp around 6:00 p.m. for dinner. Then we’ll take a ride on the river again to observe the nocturnal life in the jungle. Once we get back will spend the night in dormitory style accommodation where each person has their own mosquito net.
DAY 2:
We start the day with breakfast, then we will go by boat to a lagoon where you have the opportunity to swim with pink dolphins. Then we return to camp for lunch and rest. Then we will go to do piranha fishing where you have the chance to cook them yourself, back to camp.
DAY 3:
We begin the day with breakfast and then we’ll go for a short trek to look for anacondas in the jungle. Then, visit the monkeys. Finally, back to base camp for a buffet lunch before returning to Rurrenabaque. Return to Rurrenabaque around 5 p.m.
NOTE:
The program may change according to interests of the group, season and the movement of the animals.
It is difficult to see anacondas and terrestrial animals in the rainy season (December-May).
Accommodation is in dorms 2 to 6 people dormatories.
All beds have mosquito nets.
It’s possible to pay extra for private rooms with private toilet.
There are mosquitoes in this area but not a single malaria case for many years.
We can provide bus- (17 hours) or flight (1 hour) tickets from La Paz.
