In the heart of South America lies the Amazon rainforest. It is the world's largest tropical forest with the largest rivers and the richest ecological system of the earth.
The Jungle tour is for those who’d like to do some trekking deeper into the jungle. In this tour you’ll learn where to find water, properties of the plants and different insects.

Description

DAY 1:
We leave at 9 a.m. from the town of Rurrenabaque by 4x4 and motorized canoe. After the boat trip, we’ll walk 20 minutes along a path into the jungle until we reach the refuge or small hostel. We’ll have lunch here and in the afternoon we hike deeper into the jungle where we will receive information on medicinal plants and toxic plants. We have the possibility of seeing large trees, sometimes observing some animals such as monkeys, chichilos or whistlers, howler monkeys and also capuchin monkeys. We’ll go back and have dinner.

DAY 2:
After breakfast we’ll walk about 30 minutes from the lodge to visit the community. Here we’ll learn and see firsthand how indigenous people live in the jungle, we will be able to share moments with the people of this community and then return to have lunch at the lodge. and if we were lucky in the fishing the night before we can taste a delicious fresh fish cooked on the leaf or in bamboo. We’ll go back for lunch, and in the afternoon we’ll go deeper into the jungle to spend the night in a tent.

DAY 3:
We have a light breakfast, we take a last walk around the surroundings during the day, always with the possibility of finding an animal since in the jungle you never know what you can find. Then, around noon, we will return to the Cascade Lodge where we will have lunch and rest for a while before heading back to Rurrenabaque, arriving around 4 p.m.

NOTE:
The program may change according to interests of the group, season and the movement of the animals.
Accommodation is in dorms 2 to 6 people dormitories.
All beds have mosquito nets.
There are mosquitoes in this area but not a single malaria case for many years.
We can provide bus- (17 hours) or flight (1 hour) tickets from La Paz.

What to bring?

  • Repellent, sunscreen, Swimming suit, towel, sandals, shoes and hat.
  • Flashlight, batteries, sleeping bag (optional) long sleeved shirt, and long pants (Light colors for mosquito protection), sunglasses, 1 water bottle, toilet paper.
