Have you ever imagined a boat ride in the highest navigable lake in the world, walking in the most important Island of a sacred lake (an area where only those who belonged to the Inca royal family were allowed), visiting the first Inca ruins that will transport you to the past and help you understand why this Island is considered the Inca cradle? Description
We pick you up from your hotel (downtown area) around 7 a.m. Together with the guide you’ll go to the city of Copacabana. Here we’ll have lunch and we can visit the church (colonial architecture) or a local market. Also, in the afternoon we can take a hike up a mountain to get some excellent views of the city Copacabana as well as the Titicaca Lake. We spend the night in a hotel in Copacabana.
Second day after breakfast we leave early to visit the moon island where we visit ruins from the Inca culture.
Then we’ll take the boat to the Sun Island where we’ll visit some ruins, both from the Inca – and Tiwanaku (Pre-Inca) culture. Optional we walk up the Inca stairs to enjoy some magnificent views of the lake.
We have dinner and spend the night on the Island. Third day after breakfast there’s time to do a short trek on the Island to enjoy the views of the lake. After the Sun Island, we take the boat back to Copacabana where we have lunch. After lunch, we catch the bus back to La Paz, arriving around 6 p.m.
NOTE: All our tours to Copacabana are possible to realize in private transports with private guides as well.
It’s also possible to end the tour in Puno, Peru.
There’s also the option of visiting the floating Islands, but only for the 2 or 3 days tour.
